The Challenge

When it comes to telehealth, crisp and clear audio is key.  It is critical that the audio quality be optimal, even in those environments that may prove to be difficult. Echo and background noise must be at a minimum; otherwise, they could stand in the way of effective communication between physicians and patients. InTouch found that there was an issue with echo occurring during audio and video interactions. In order to solve this problem, InTouch was looking for a hardware bundled echo cancellation solution, specifically for fast signal processing.

The Fix

In its search for a perfect solution, InTouch Health found Phoenix Audio Technologies. Being that echo cancelling is a main feature of almost all of Phoenix’s products, InTouch inquired about help with its voice intelligibility issue. The desire was to incorporate fast echo cancellation convergence into the InTouch proprietary telehealth robots to enable high quality, full-duplex communication. Phoenix’s MT102 Echo Cancellation Card was the answer.


The Value

The MT102 has met InTouch Health’s needs by being versatile in a host of clinical environments in which InTouch products are deployed. The product works well with all product offerings, and has enhanced the user experience between medical professionals and patients during live audio/video communications. The card is now installed in all of InTouch’s high end telehealth robots, and deployed across the globe; InTouch has an installed base of 1,300 devices worldwide. The MT102 echo cancellation card has helped InTouch in its goal to provide rich and complete end-to-end telehealth solutions.
