QUATTRO

Q:

Can I mount the Quattro upside down on the ceiling?

A:

Yes, but this configuration is not recommended. The Quattro was designed to be mounted on a desk/table where its acoustic performance will be optimal.

Q:

What if I want to use a keypad on the Quattro instead of the phone?

A:

Phoenix now offers a keypad accessory for the Quattro 302 L1 that allows to dial directly from the Quattro.

Q:

Will there be a unit with the keypad built in?

A:

No, but Phoenix now offers a keypad accessory for the Quattro 302 L1 that allows to dial directly from the Quattro.

The Quattro's batteries will last for about seven hours of continues use (constant talking).

How long does it take to charge the Quattro on USB or AC power?

A:

In both cases the Quattro will be fully charged in about half an hour.

How long can the USB cable connecting the PC with the Quattro be without diminishing the signal?

A:

A:

There is no limit.

The daisy chain cable provided by Phoenix is 10 feet. We don't recommend using cables exceeding 20 feet.

Q:

Which Quattros are compatible with which phones?

A:

Phoenix offers two types of phone compatible Quattros. The first is the 302 which is a PSTN (analog phone system) Quattro. This speakerphone can be used with any regular phone and does not require any special cables (comes in both one or two line systems). The second is the 305 is our DTI or Digital Telephone Interface Quattro which is compatible with ANY digital phone. It comes with a gray wire that connects to AVAYA type headset jacks and a black wire that connects with CISCO type headset jacks. The 305 also comes with a sensitivity switch in the back to adjust to your particular system.

Q:

Do you have a data sheet for the Quattro?

A:

Yes, you can find it by going to this link: Resources and clicking on "Quattro Brochure" under "Data Sheets".

Q:

Can I paint the Quattro to match our décor?

A:

Yes, but it's highly recommended that you don't. Painting can harm the delicate electronics inside the Quattro such as the microphones and speakers.

Q:

I have a Quattro VCA, what do the L1 and L2 buttons do?

A:

The L1 and L2 buttons only function in the telephone interface.

Q:

What is a beam forming array? Is it the same as gating?

A:

Beam forming is the use of all four microphones simultaneously to provide maximum reception at different angles. It is not the same as gating, which is used by our competitors. Gating is the use of one microphone at a time depending on the direction of reception.

Q:

How do I daisy chain the Quattro? Do I need a special unit and or cable?

A:

To daisy chain a Quattro you should first decide what kind of interface you want to use. The "master" Quattro should match the type of interface you want to use (telephone, USB, VCA...). Now that you have chosen your master Quattro which will be connected to your interface, you can start daisy chaining as many Daisy Chain Quattros (also known as the 304 model) as you need. The Quattros connected to the "master" also known as the "slaves" must all be the 304 model. Each 304 comes with the necessary daisy chain cable. The 304 connect with any type of Quattro (301, 302 L1\L2, 303, and 305).

Q:

Can I make my own daisy chain cable?

A:

Yes, our tech support will be happy to provide you with the schematics.

Q:

What will the Phoenix Audio Utility do for my Quattro?

A:

The Phoenix Audio Utility works the same way with all of our products and is a free and highly recommended download. In essence, the audio utility optimizes the device's performance by muting the microphone in playback mode and setting the playback and recording volumes to the optimal configurations. In addition, the audio utility can be used to check if the device is properly connected to your PC.

Q:

How big a room can the Quattro accommodate?

A:

The Quattro works well in a radios of about 20 feet, so a conference room of about 40 feet can be covered.

Q:

I read that the Quattro is wide band. What does this mean?

A:

This means that the Quattro's frequency response is from a low of 100 Hz to a high of 8 KHz with a sampling rate of 16 KHz.

Q:

What is the de-reverb utility you have advertised?

A:

Reverb is a phenomena caused by your voice bouncing off surroundings such as walls and windows, and repeatedly re-entering your microphone. Phoenix's de-reverb utility addresses this issue and cancels the effects of reverb.
